would it not make more sense to have models of all different shapes and sizes rather than just size zero
Unfortunately (as I sure most of us have heard a kgillion time) Society and the media set the "Gold Standard" in fashion and fads. I remember Twiggy. What a sickling! Then "Plus Size", "big girl", etc came along. Since when was a 12 a "big girl" size? Since its common knowledge that cameras add at least 15 punds to your body, "cameras don lie". The young ones are developing at a faster rate than I did at that age. (i 54") Since Twiggy set the THIN IS IN mentality (with the help of her fans, stylists, et al.), girls and young women fell into the belief system themselves and the eating orders began to surface as a way to keep in control. It is not so prevelent in, say, Italy. Their women have meat on their bones. In control of What they looked like. The clothes come in larger sizes so as not to discriminate, to make the lastes fasion availabe to all, regardless weather it looked good or not. To wear the same stlyin clothes as the models said something about you and how you felt about youself. Whew! That was a mouth full! :)
Plus size models? What do you think about the controversy regarding the plus size models at London fashion week?(UK sizes 1014 = US sizes 812) I am disgusted that they are labelled "plus size models" rather than"normal healthy women" what do you think?
Do you think it wrong that people make such a fuss about size zero models being on the catwalk while allowing plus size models, ugg pas cher? Is that not also glamourising an unhealthy lifestyle?
Would runway fashion be better with models of all shapes and sizes?
With clothes, we all wear different sizes right? But say if there was a tall person and a short person who both wore the same size jeans would it be too short or too long for one of them? How is it jeans are size fit our body length and shape?
I bought dowels in different sizes to make knitting needles. I used a pencil sharpener and sandpaper. That worked until I got to the bigger dowels. Can you think of a way to sharpen them other than with knife or pencil sharpener?
